The Southern Finance Association (SFA) and the Southwestern Finance Association (SWFA) jointly sponsor the Journal of Financial Research.

The Southern Finance Association

The purpose of this Association is to foster the development of scientific and literary works in finance; to improve the teaching of finance: to enhance communication among people interested in finance who work in government, business, and academic institutions; and to undertake such other activities as may be appropriate for a non-profit association dedicated to finance scholarship. The Association will provide the opportunity for communicating ideas and advances in finance by holding an annual meeting wherein papers are presented and discussed, and where in discussion groups, panels and other forums may be held.

The Southwestern Finance Association

The mission of the Association is to provide a venue for the exchange of ideas and information related to finance theory and practice by:

*   Promoting the interaction between finance academics and practitioners
*   Holding an annual meeting to present papers and discuss issues of current interest
*   Co-sponsoring The Journal of Financial Research
*   Recognizing outstanding research and teaching through annual awards
